MODO | Export UVs to SVG Quick Tip

MODO | Export UVs to SVG Quick Tip

If you are using the UV Transform operator in MODO 10.1 (Procedural Modeling) and would like to use paths created in Illustrator as curves, the scale of the paths/curves coming from Illustrator may become a problem during the importing and exporting of data between MODO and Illustrator.

To bypass any scale issues simply take advantage of the Bounds Size setting. Set the Bounds Size to 2834.65 (Default value is 1000.0)

Using a Bounds Size of 2834.65 when exporting UVs to SVG will allow you to open the SVG file in Illustrator, build paths that line up with your UVs, and export those paths as an AI file that will load into MODO at 1M x1M.

This works perfect for using those paths in conjunction with UV Transform without having to edit the paths scale. This size lines up perfect with the UVs that are being referenced when using UV Transform.
