MODO | JoyStick Rig
Many animators prefer working with a Jason Osipa-style visual interface when animating facial features. This style rig allows you to manipulate joysticks and slider controllers to drive a character’s performance instead of manipulating joints or morph sliders directly.
This MODO source file includes a cartoon character head with two joysticks, two vertical sliders and two horizontal sliders rigged up and ready to animate. As you explore the setup you’ll also find additional nuggets of rigging information like an easy way to add tertiary eye socket movement when the character’s eyes are rotated.
