Modo with Ellery - Episode 25 Better Metals
Default metal materials can leave your scene a bit... well... lackluster. Finding the balance between environmental contribution, specular coloration, roughness and anisotropy will help improve the look of your metals. In this episode, we will cover setting up the environment and reflective values, adding textures to modulate the key material attributes, building quick UVs to help add localized details and adjusting the valuse of your textures to create an appropriate material for your needs.
