Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

MODO | Making the HUD work for you

MODO | Making the HUD work for you

MODO's HUD (introduced in the MODO 11 series) can be very useful once you customize it a bit.  The default settings aren't great because you're much better off hitting 'b' for bevel (for example) than using the HUD icon.  However, there's a plenty of MODO modeling commands that do not have keyboard shortcuts assigned that you often end up digging around for.  These are the tools that you want in the HUD (bridge, thicken, slide...etc).

I'd like to see the ability to add commands to the HUD in addition to tools, that way we can have useful commands like 'join point' and even some item constraint commands.

Once you have useful tools in your HUD you need to really try and make it part of your workflow so you can commit it to muscle memory.  Once you have something locked in muscle memory the HUD becomes very useful.
