Book: The Silver Way
The Silver Way: Techniques, Tips, and Tutorials for Effective Character Design.
Years ago, I was doing the rounds at the San Diego Comic Con and I was lucky enough to not only pick up a copy of Stephen Silver's Sketchbook, I also got to spend some time talking with him. I had followed his work for years and it was a real honor to get to meet him.
So, when Silver announced a Kickstarter campaign for a book he was creating that shared his approach to character design and drawing, I was all in.
The book arrived this week and has completely exceeded all expectations I had. I haven't made it through the entire book yet (will take me quite some time) as there is a massive amount of information to cover.
The format of the book is awesome with loads of unique examples and great print quality. I knew I would like the book but this is so much more than I expected. When I backed the project, there was a plan for 192 pages and what I received was 248 pages of well-thought-out material.
The book is now available in his online store. If you're interested in character design I can't see how you could pass on this amazing resource. Silver has packed so much information in this book that it could easily be a collection of books.
