MODO | Twist Extractor
MODO 13.2 adds new rigging node in the schematic view - Twist Extractor. This powerful modifier extracts 3 angles: twist, pitch and yaw out of an orientation difference between two items (their transforms). However, the angles are extracted in such a way that the twist angle is independent from the remaining two. In effect you can split an orientation difference in two “parts” - the twist and then pitch combined with yaw.
This is extremely useful in any situations that require the twist angle to be isolated. The video below demonstrates one such case in which extracted twist angle is used to apply gradual twist along the length of the upper arm to improve the deformation around arm joint.
