Modo | Getting Started
If you are looking to learn 3D for the first time or you’re a long time 3D artist interested in adding Modo to your toolkit, the following information can help speed up the process. Before making any financial investment, I’d recommend taking advantage of the free 30 day trial, which enables you to work with a fully functioning version of Modo at no cost.

If you’re a student, you can experiment with all of Foundry’s creative software for an entire year, free of charge. More information about this program can be found here: https://www.foundry.com/education
Downloading and installing Modo is the first step but knowing where to start can be daunting and intimidating. Fortunately, the foundry now offers a free crash course, designed to demystify navigating and working with the tools and features in Modo. The guide will teach you the fundamentals of Modo, useful hotkeys and much more.

As you dive deeper into Modo you might need further assistance. No worries, there are plenty of additional free resources that will aid you on your journey. You’ll want to take advantage of hours of free training videos found here on the Pixel Fondue site.

Sometimes you just need to communicate with other artists using Modo. I’d recommend joining one if not all the online communities, where you can chat with other users, members of the Modo Development team, industry veterans and more.
Using these resources will enable you to take full advantage of the 30 day trail, and will help make the experience a more pleasant one. When you are ready to take your Modo skills to the next level, there is a wide variety of resources available. Training Resources such as Kitestring, project-based training such as the Vintage Motorcycle training from Richard Yot, Footwear Modeling from Modo Methods & Techniques for Designers and much, much more!
